Power Mechanics for FortressCraft 1.9. In FortressCraft, automation revolves around throughput and flow rates rather than absolute numbers. It doesn't matter how many lumps of coal you pump into powering a coal mine, as long as you are getting more out than you are burning. Power To be exact when talking about a PTG, the split cannot be even because the PTG generates power for 60 secs and does a break for 4,8sec. 3 directions will get 9 power ticks and the last 3 directions only get 8 power ticks (due to the break). Power generation, storage, and distribution are one of the primary challenges in Fortresscraft Evolved. An adequate and efficient power system is necessary to obtain and process resources, research new technologies, automate crafting, provide base defenses, and ultimately win the game. Street Fighter V: Champion Edition and New Character Seth Available Now on PS4 and PC!Hey there Capcom Unity! Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope your day is being filled with love and happiness. Speaking of love and happiness, I want to help spread the love by happily announcing the launch of Street Fighter V: Champion Edition and Seth!If you’re new to SFV, Street Fighter V: Champion Edition can get you caught up very quickly with all available characters, stages and costumes (excluding Fight Chance costumes, brand collaboration costumes and Capcom Pro Tour DLC), along with all the modes and features.

In total Street Fighter V: Champion Edition includes all 40 characters, 34 stages and over 200 costumes! With the coming of a new iteration of Street Fighter V comes a new character, or in this case a returning one. As an avid Seth player from the days of Street Fighter IV, I’m excited to be talking about the return of Seth in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. Seth arrives in SFV:CE with a different look than in SFIV. Seth’s consciousness awakens inside the body of Doll Unit Zero and is equipped with a new set of moves. The King of Chaos returns!Using Seth’s V-Skill I “Tanden Engine” will draw in the opponent, and the follow-up move “Tanden Install” will absorb their data. This opens up a ton of combo variety depending on who your opponent is. V-Skill II is a fast forward dash that can be followed up with one of Seth’s special moves to create combo extensions. For a full written rundown of Seth’s abilities visit the or check out these Seth Preview Videos!Seth Preview Video:Seth Gameplay Preview:You’ll notice that Seth’s body changes form when mimicking moves from various characters.

If Seth steals moves from bigger characters, Seth’s new Doll Unit Zero body also grows to their size when using their attacks. Watching Seth’s muscles expand when mimicking characters like Zangief or Abigail is truly a sight to behold. Even stealing Blanka’s “Rolling Attack” has Seth mirroring some of Blanka’s animalistic like tendencies.Rolling attacks? Seth’s got those. One of my favorite aspects of Seth is how the combo potential changes with each opponent you face. Although I am a Laura main in SFV I have been enjoying playing as Seth to steal Laura’s “Thunder Clap.” Stealing that move has allowed more combo opportunities in addition to some new mixups. Test out all of Seth’s stolen abilities and see how it fits best with your combos!Seth’s ability to steal moves on the fly may come as a shock to someStreet Fighter V: Champion Edition is now available physically and digitally on PlayStation 4 and as a digital download on Steam for MSRP $29.99. Street Fighter V: Champion Edition Content ListHey there fighters! With Street Fighter V: Champion Edition only a week away until release, we wanted to give you all a heads up as to what’s included in the entire package. I’m sure you’ve heard these numbers frequently from us lately, but just to reiterate, 40 characters, 34 stages, and more than 200 costumes.

Over the past four years, we’ve released so much content that it might be a bit overwhelming. Don’t worry though, I’m here to help you get caught up.

Below you’ll find everything that’s included in Champion Edition. There is also a more concise but lengthy list you can find at the end of this blog post.-MASTER LISTStreet Fighter V: Champion Edition releases on PS4 and PC next week (on Feb 14) and includes everything listed above and more!To purchase Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. The Saikyo Dojo has a new sensei, Dan Louie!Hey all! My name is Dan, and I’m here to invite you all to my Saikyo Dojo! Just kidding. Although I am named Dan after all! I am the new Social Media & Community Specialist at Capcom U.S.A.

And will be in charge of looking after Street Fighter here. Here’s a little background about myself:I have been a gamer since I was 3 years old and have worked in the gaming industry for over 10 years across several different jobs.

I’m also an avid Street Fighter player and have been playing the series since I was a young lad in the arcades during the 90s to the present day. I’ve always enjoyed Street Fighter on a competitive level and have participated in various tournaments throughout the years. While I will be retiring from the competitive scene with my new position here at Capcom, I am super excited to now be working directly with the brilliant minds behind Street Fighter! My character mains have varied throughout the games, such as Rose, Seth, and Hakan in Ultra Street Fighter IV and Laura in Street Fighter V.

My taste in main characters seems to change over time and with each game, so I suppose you can consider me an eclectic player.I’m also a huge fan of Capcom’s other brands such as Monster Hunter, Ace Attorney and Mega Man. In addition to gaming tournaments, I like to attend many gaming and anime conventions, and of course, play many kinds of games. Other than fighting games, I also play FPS games like Overwatch as well as mobile card games like Shadowverse and Teppen.I am looking forward to working with the Street Fighter team and I can’t wait to get to know all of you as I spread the Saikyo ways (and my love of Street Fighter) all over the world!

Seth Announced for Street Fighter V: Champion Edition; Gill and New Gameplay Content Out Today! That’s a wrap on Capcom Cup 2019, as another highly entertaining season of the Capcom Pro Tour (CPT) is in the books. Congrats to the champ, to all the World Warriors who competed and to everyone who made CPT 2019 one of the most hype seasons yet. Crowning the champion wasn’t the only post-event excitement, as we also shared more news on Street Fighter V: Champion Edition.Seth, the “King of Chaos” and boss character from Street Fighter IV, was announced as character #40 in Street Fighter V and will be taking form on February 14, 2020, when the full version of Champion Edition releases.

And just in time for the holidays, the December update has been released, making Gill, the “Sun Chase Moon” stage, V-Skill II and a new battle balance available now for current players.Continue reading for further details on Seth, the December update and more! The Street Fighter series has played host to many iconic bosses. The first entry in the series had Sagat and Street Fighter II: The World Warrior introduced us to M. Bison and his malevolent Psycho Power. And who could forget Street Fighter III: New Generation and the resurrection of the messiah-like Gill. All three of these badass bosses have made the generational leap to Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. And now, Street Fighter IV’s Seth is coming to Champion Edition, rounding off the boss gauntlet from the main Street Fighter series. You may be wondering why Seth looks somewhat different than in Street Fighter IV.

In truth, Seth is more machine than human, and was never male or female to begin with. Seth’s exact origins were never made abundantly clear, but this character didn’t make it through the events of Street Fighter IV entirely unscathed. The form you see here is the remnants of Seth’s biological brain paired with the body of Doll Unit Zero. It’s a different look, to be sure, but Seth still speaks with the same voice and craves both M.

Bison’s demise and data on the strongest fighters.V-Skill 1 – Tanden EngineIn Street Fighter IV, Seth had already collected data on many strong attacks. In Street Fighter V, Seth’s ability to steal opponent’s moves is taken to a whole new level with V-Skill 1, Tanden Engine. By successfully punishing or catching the opponent off-guard with Tanden Engine’s vacuum-like effect, Seth can steal a special move. From Balrog, it’s Turn Punch.

From Chun-Li, it’s Lightning Legs. From Sagat, it’s Tiger Knee. And from who Seth hates the most, it’s Double Knee Press.

Each of these stolen moves gives Seth access to something uniquely different, but perhaps due to corrupted memory, Seth can only use it once before needing to steal it again.V-Skill 2 – Tanden BoosterRather than stealing, Tanden Booster is all about adding momentum to Seth’s pre-installed specials moves. Tapping this V-Skill 2 will make Seth dash forward from a full screen away. Tapping it again will cancel the dash before it finishes. Inputting one of Seth’s special attacks during the dash will have a variety of effects. The Hecatoncheires rapid punches becomes Hecatoncheires Glide, a move that’s safe on block but leaves the opponent standing and in idle mix-up range on hit. The Cruel Disaster pirouette kick becomes Spin Pendulum, a move that causes a knockdown and can be used for oki. The other advantage of Tanden Booster is that you can combo into it from Seth’s target combo and standing heavy punch.V-Trigger 1 – Tanden IgnitionIn Champion Edition, the glory of the Tanden Engine is unleashed with Tanden Ignition.

This three bar V-Trigger unlocks teleporting follow-ups for all four of Seth’s special moves. The Hecatoncheires leads into the Titanomachy gut punch.

The Mad Cradle dragon punch transitions into the Mad Spin descending drill. The Cruel Disaster morphs into the Cyclone Disaster crescent kick – leaving the window open for a combo extension. And the Annihilate Sword dive kick shifts seamlessly into the Hell’s Gate upturned palm thrust. But that’s not all. Tanden Ignition is also compatible with many stolen moves. Ken’s Dragon Punch into Mad Spin for 14 hits? Sure you can!V-Trigger 2 – Tanden ManeuverTanden Maneuver turns Seth into a pinball wizard.

Upon activation, Seth will summon a large sphere of energy. You can move the sphere in different directions up to four times before the sphere dissipates.

The sphere can strike the opponent while moving – with the potential of putting them into a juggle state – or it can be left in place to act as a stationary projectile. Seth can also detonate the sphere early with Tanden Explode. If the opponent is caught by this, they’ll be sent skyward. But if they choose to block, Seth will be left at significant (as high as plus nine) frame advantage. Suffice to say, this two-bar V-Trigger 2 is the more technical of the two and has a lot of set-up potential for players to discover.Critical Art – Tanden Destruction/Tanden ExtremeRather than drawing the opponent into the Tanden Engine as in Street Fighter IV, Seth draws them into a large sphere of energy as the Tanden Engine goes into overdrive.

In the final moments of Tanden Destruction, the opponent is propelled into the arena wall with significant force. However, if Seth has V-Trigger 1 active, Tanden Destruction becomes Tanden Extreme. This overclocked Critical Art lets us witness the true power of the Tanden Engine as Seth summons a doppelganger to intensify the destructive forces at play.

The end result is more damage and a face crushing connection with the fourth wall.Seth will be joining the Street Fighter V: Champion Edition roster when the full version releases on February 14, but the new December update is available now for current players. Here’s a rundown of what’s available:GillThe leader of the Secret Society and a master of elemental balance, Gill has officially graced the illustrious roster with his presence in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. With the ability to control both fire and ice, Gill’s fierce punch will be engulfed in flames, while his standing roundhouse will hit opponents with a frozen force. Gill can be acquired separately beginning today for MSRP $5.99 / €5.99 / £4.99 or 100,000 Fight Money and will be added to the roster in the full version of Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, available on February 14, 2020.“Sun Chase Moon” StageGill’s home base, the new “Sun Chase Moon” stage, offers a perfectly balanced locale for players to light up the day and rule the night.

This all-new stage is available now for MSRP $3.99 / €3.99 / £3.29 or 70,000 Fight Money and will be included in the full version of Street Fighter V: Champion Edition.V-Skill 2Beginning today, all new V-Skills are being added to every character in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. There are so many other awesome new V-Skills that we can’t wait for you to try out. Bison’s teleporting cross-up knee that’s plus one on block.

There’s Birdie’s weaponised bubble gum projectile that he can blow to different sizes. There’s Alex’s new charge that lets him cancel his special moves into each other. There’s Abigail’s rolling tire projectile that he can whack in different directions. And there’s Cody’s high or low dodge that gives him a few frames of strike intangibility before letting him follow up with a hook or sweep. These new V-Skills and the new balance patch changes are available for all existing Street Fighter V owners as a free download beginning today.New Battle BalanceAs mentioned previously, a new battle balance is available now as a free download for current players. Anyone who pre-orders Champion Edition in North America (other territories may vary) will receive a fierce-looking new costume color for each character. For current owners of any version of Street Fighter V, there’s also a handy Upgrade Kit for MSRP $24.99 / €24.99 / £19.99 that grants you instant access to all available Champion Edition content as it becomes available leading up to the launch date.As always, all game mode additions and balance updates are free for owners of any Street Fighter V version. In fact, all-new V-Skills (V-Skill 2) are being added for each character and, along with a new balance update, will be available for free to current players next month. All DLC characters can still be purchased separately or earned free-of-charge by completing various in-game challenges and receiving Fight Money.GillNow, on a more angelic note, Champion Edition heralds the return of Gill, the leader of the Secret Society and the end boss of the Street Fighter III series. Anyone who finished SFV ’s “A Shadow Falls” story mode will remember the final sequence where Gill was shown to be plotting behind the scenes. Gill is now ready to reveal himself to the world, as he sets out to fulfil the prophecy that the Secret Society has coveted since ancient times. Gill will be added to the Street Fighter V roster as part of Street Fighter V: Champion Edition in February 2020 or can be acquired separately starting in December for MSRP $5.99 / €5.99 / £4.99 or 100,000 Fight Money.Gill is a master of both Pyrokinesis and Cryokinesis, being able to control fire and ice with perfect elemental balance (hence his outward appearance).

All his heavy normal attacks, and all but one of his special moves, have an elemental alignment. When Gill throws out a fierce punch, it’ll be engulfed in flames, and when he lets fly with a standing roundhouse, it’ll hit opponents with a frozen force. But these hot and cold flashes aren’t just for show. They also form the cornerstone of Gill’s unique mechanic – Retribution (bet you’re glad we didn’t say Resurrection).V-Skill 1 – Divine CometDepending on which V-Trigger is selected, Divine Comet will summon either an ice or fire-based projectile. If this missile hits the opponent, they’ll be afflicted with either a flaming aura that slowly reduces grey life or a frozen veil that stops their stun gauge from recovering.

If Gill then hits the opponent with an elementally opposed strike, the word “Retribution” appears on screen and the rules get rewritten. His overhead causes a hard knockdown, his standing fierce punch leaves him at plus 10 on hit and he gets more opportunities for juggles and air resets.V-Skill 2 – BlockingBlocking can be performed against mid/high attacks or low to deflect the opponent’s attack. It’s effective against strikes and projectiles and it can also be rapidly chained into itself for those “Moment #37” opportunities.V-Trigger 1 – Primal FirePrimal Fire powers up Gill’s fire-based special attacks, causing them to set the opponent on fire without having to spend any bar on their EX versions. It also unlocks two additional flaming attacks. Burn Storm is a burning tempest that can be cancelled from most of Gill’s normal attacks and Flame Javelin is a fast moving projectile that strikes the ground like a mini meteorite.V-Trigger 2 – Ice of DoomIce of Doom is the arctic opposite of Primal Fire, in that it buffs Gill’s ice-based specials.

It also unlocks two additional moves that are less spicy and more icy. Tree of Frost is a frozen pillar of spikes that rapidly grows from Gill’s outstretched palm. If it strikes the opponent while they’re in a burning state, the Retribution effect will cause a wall bounce. Delay Freeze Lance sets a frosty trap on the ground that functions like a proximity mine. Should the opponent be careless enough to trigger it without blocking, the ensuing detonation will freeze them in place and leave them open for an unabridged combo.“Sun Chase Moon” StageIn keeping with their namesake, the Secret Society have hidden bases spread across the globe. The new Sun Chase Moon stage houses one such base, looking suspiciously similar to the spiralling structure shown during Urien’s ending in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.

On one side of the stage, the sun looms intently with fierce beams of light, while on the other, the moon hangs in the sky with seemingly perpetual twilight. The structure in the middle also lights up with ancient runes when either player secures a round. The Sun Chase Moon stage will be added to Street Fighter V: Champion Edition or available separately in December for MSRP $3.99 / €3.99 / £3.29 or 70,000 Fight Money.Holiday ContentAs if all this news wasn’t festive enough, there’s more!

Beginning on November 18 th, new holiday-themed content will be available in Street Fighter V! Light up the holidays with themed costumes for G, Poison and Lucia for MSRP $3.99 / €3.99 / £3.29. And in weather-related news, a blizzard has apparently hit Metro City and transformed Abigail’s auto shop into a “Holly Jolly Beatdown” winter wonderland!

Add this new stage to your collection for MSRP $1.99 / €1.99 / £1.69 or 40,000 Fight Money. The holiday costumes are available on Nov 18 and the stage is coming later this month!Extra Battle: Blanka (Nergigante)And finally, for our Monster Hunter fans out there, we’ve got something special. Street fighting and monster hunting go together like, well Blanka and Nergigante. From November 22 nd through December 20 th, if SFV players get a “Quest Complete” in Extra Battle mode, they’ll be rewarded with a new Blanka costume carved from Nergigante, a ferocious spiky Elder Dragon first introduced in Monster Hunter: World. Current Monster Hunter World: Iceborne players can battle the all-new (and even more ferocious and spiky) Ruiner Nergigante in this recently released expansion!Ok, that’s all for now, but more exciting Street Fighter V content is in the works.

As a Mastermind, you’ll use a series of cards to place traps, zombies, and vicious creatures around each stage to thwart the Survivors’ progress, even unleashing the unstoppable Tyrant to (literally) crush the Survivors’ ambitions. For more info, check out the gameplay video below to see how a full match can play out:Both the Survivor and Mastermind roles will be playable at the show, so be sure to bring a few friends to play with – or against!. 2:00 PM - UDON (Booth #1764)Capcom StoreAfter a hiatus with a focus on the digital realm, the Capcom Store makes its return in physical form! This year, the Capcom Store will be your one-stop-shop for all things Capcom, and will be featuring a number of items not sold on our online shop, including a couple of NYCC exclusives and debuts, and various items from a number of our licensing partners. Honda, Lucia and Poison Coming to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition on August 4thThree new characters are being added to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition – pushing the impressive roster to 38 fighters. The sumo wrestling E. Honda completes the starting lineup from the original Street Fighter II.

Lucia Morgan, a detective from the Special Crimes Unit of the Metro City Police Department, steps up to the plate with her thick Metro City accent and red-hot kicks. And last, but definitely not least, Poison of Final Fight fame brings her cracking whip and striking style to SFV: AE.These three new challengers are being added to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition and will be available on August 4 th individually for MSRP $5.99 / €5.99 / £4.99 or 100,000 Fight Money. A “Summer 2019 Character Bundle” will be made available on August 5 th for MSRP $14.99 / €14.99 / £11.99 and will include all three new characters, in addition to each character’s Battle Costume and Default Colors 3-10.Read on to get the full inside scoop.E.

HondaWishing to educate the world on the long-term benefits of a relaxing soak in the tub, E. Honda is re-opening his popular bathhouse – Honda Sento. But as steadfast as his devotion is to all things hot and steamy, his number one passion will always be sumo wrestling. In this respect, Honda-san’s transition to SFV: AE is comprehensive.

His Hundred Hand Slap still requires a precise pianoing of punch presses (this time, four rather than five) to let loose with the open palm assault. His Sumo Headbutt still hits like a speeding bullet train, while being susceptible to projectile pressure.

And his Oicho Throw still makes him dangerous up-close. But far from a relic of the past, Honda’s formidable V-Skill and V-Triggers take his iconic fundamentals to the next level.V-Skill – Neko DamashiHonda’s V-Skill is a heavy-handed clap that negates single-hit projectiles. It can cancel into his special moves on block and hit. V-Skill into light Hundred Hand Slap, for instance, is a true block string and leaves Honda at frame advantage.V-Trigger 1 – OnigawaraHis V-Trigger unlocks a more potent version of the Sumo Headbutt, called Oni-Daikaku. It can combo from any normal attack, has one hit of armor on start-up and can cancel into a second headbutt called Oni-Muso. Oni-Daikaku can also be used to guard crush the opponent on a full charge.V-Trigger 2 – TajikaraoHonda’s V-Trigger 2 unlocks a running command grab with one hit of armor.

The grab can hit raw or as part of a combo, with Honda slamming the opponent into the nearest corner, gaining frame advantage and removing the opponent’s ability to perform a back recovery. This makes it a particularly strong tool for oki.LuciaHaving received a tip off from Haggar about a possible plot to take out Mayor Cody, Officer Morgan hits the streets of Metro City in search of answers. Her Gun Smoke command run lets her close the distance quickly with one of four follow-ups – the Rough Chase shoulder barge, Tornado Spinner juggle kicks, Cyclone Spinner anti-air and the Braking dead halt.

She also has access to the Dragon Punch-style Hurricane Spinner, the Fire Spinner spinning back kick and flaming projectiles with unconventional flightpaths courtesy of Flipper Shot. All these specials are unsafe on-block unless timed meaty or spaced correctly, but thanks to her strong V-Triggers and a cancellable low forward that hits from afar, she has many ways to combo into them.V-Skill – Tap-KickLucia’s V-Skill is a multi-hitting kick that can be cancelled from most of her normal attacks and leaves her at advantage on hit. You just need to be mindful that it’s very unsafe on block.V-Trigger 1 – Burning FightHer V-Trigger 1 enhances all her kick-based special moves, and when combined with her EX command run, can lead to some flashy and highly damaging combos. It also causes her V-Skill to score a knockdown on the final hit, leading to more oki opportunities.V-Trigger 2 – Weapon FuryLucia’s V-Trigger 2 equips her trusty baton and unlocks Tactical Weapon.

This move can be cancelled from all her normal attacks, is safe on block and can combo into all her special moves. Suffice to say, it’s tailor made for frame traps and extending combos.PoisonFeeling down in the dumps after parting ways with her former partner-in-crime, Poison returns to Metro City in search of a new headliner for the wrestling federation. She’s received a whip upgrade compared to the short-range slapper she sported in Ultra Street Fighter 4 – this time she’s wielding a looping lasher with lasso-like range.

Gone are the rekkas and chargeable projectiles, which are replaced by a refreshing mix of far-reaching normals that are easily buffered into her high kicking and whip whirling specials. And we haven’t even detailed her V-Skill and V-Triggers yet!V-Skill – Perfume SwingPoison’s V-Skill is a swinging strike that can travel one of two distances. It can be cancelled from some of her normal attacks and allows for a follow-up strike. It can also travel over most projectiles if spaced correctly.V-Trigger 1 – Poison CocktailHer V-Trigger 1 gives her access to Molotov cocktails. These can be thrown either straight up or ahead and cause steady chip damage by setting the ground on fire. They’re useful for setups and combo extensions.V-Trigger 2 – Poison GlamorPoison’s V-Trigger 2 unlocks two commands grabs – Toxic Hold and Toxic Bind.

The former does more stun and damage, but has limited range. The latter can hit from over half a screen away, but has more start-up and recovery frames.

Both can be used mid-combo.“Honda Sento” Bathhouse StageThis stage should be instantly familiar to anyone who played Street Fighter II in the 90s. “Honda Sento” is a modern remake of E. Honda’s iconic bathhouse stage from Street Fighter II: The World Warrior. Blue tiled flooring, individual showers and a sumo-sized onsen – filled to the brim with piping hot water from a nearby hot spring. What better place to kick back and relax with a towel on your head after a hard day of fighting in the streets.

The new “Honda Sento” stage can be yours on August 4 th for MSRP $3.99 / €3.99 / £3.29 or 70,000 Fight Money.Free Trial (Season 3 Character Unlock) and SaleHaven’t yet taken the time to pull off a Shoryuken or Hadoken in Street Fighter V? An in-game screenshot showing attacking in the Crowded Downtown stageProducer has stated that he wanted to keep the game closer to. The battles in SFIV now begin with a short pre-fight intro, a small cinematic dialogue sequence which varies depending on the player's chosen character. A new system called Focus Attacks (Saving Attack for the Japanese version) has been introduced, as well as Ultra Moves. The traditional six-button control scheme has returned, with new features and Special Moves integrated into the input system, mixing classic gameplay with additional innovations. The game has arguably a similar feel to, but also has a few features from. As in, throwing is performed by pressing both light attack buttons, while pressing both heavy attack buttons performs the character's personal action or taunt.

Pressing both medium attack buttons performs a character's Focus Attack. Dashes and quick standing are also in the game. And (with the air taunt) are the only characters who can perform a high jump.It was intended that bonus rounds such as the car-smashing stage from earlier Street Fighter games would return. Ono later stated that the bonus stages would not be in the arcade game, citing the reason to be that the time players spend on bonus stages is time during which they have no chance of losing, which ultimately takes money from arcade operators. The bonus stages were later added in.

There are also Rival Battles which have a cutscene between two characters (which depends on who they are) before the battle starts.Focus Attacks, known as Saving Attack in the Japanese version, is a new system introduced in Street Fighter IV. The Focus Attack is a move that allows the player to absorb an attack and launch a counterattack, and it is performed by pressing the medium punch and medium kick buttons simultaneously. There are two phases to the attack. In the first phase, the player will shift into a new stance, at which point he or she is able to absorb a single hit from the opponent. The second phase is the counterattack.

The longer the player holds down the medium punch and kick buttons, the more powerful the attack will be. If the buttons are held for long enough the attack will be unblockable and cause the opponent to crumple slowly to the ground, allowing the player to follow up with a free hit. Attacks that were absorbed during the first phase of a Focus Attack still cause damage to the player; however, life lost from the opponent's attack will be quickly regenerated afterward. In addition, during the first phase of the Focus Attack, the player may perform a dash either forward or backward to cancel the Focus Attack.

Finally, at the cost of two bars of the Super Combo gauge, many Special Moves can be canceled into a Focus Attack. By executing a Focus Attack during the Special Move, the animation of the move will be cut short and go instantly into the Focus Attack animation. This allows players with precise timing to cancel Special Moves into Focus Attacks, and in turn cancel Focus Attacks into the forward dash, resulting in new combo possibilities. If a Special Move is blocked by the opponent, the new system allows players to cancel the blocked move with a Focus Attack, and then cancel the Focus Attack by dashing backward safely away from the opponent. Ono has stated that this system was incorporated in order to shift the emphasis away from and toward a more realistic system he has compared to, in which 'the skill is in reading your opponent's move before he or she starts moving. We haven't forgotten about combos and linked moves, but focus makes it so that you have to read your opponent.' The system aims to make ground attacks as viable a way of approaching opponents as jumping was in previous games.

The focus system is a core part of Street Fighter IV's gameplay. In addition to the powered-up versions of Special Moves introduced in previous Street Fighter games such as Super Combos and EX Special Moves, the game also introduces a new type of powered-up Special Move officially dubbed the Ultra Combo. Ultra Combos are long and cinematic moves featuring a lengthy combination of punches, kicks and other fighting techniques. Just as there is a Super Combo gauge, there is also an Ultra Combo gauge (officially known as the Revenge Gauge or Revenge Meter), but whereas the Super Combo gauge fills up when the player hits their opponent or performs a Special Move, the Revenge Gauge fills when one takes damage from their opponent (similar to the K Groove featured in ). Along with the Super Combos, Ultra Combos are one of the only times (besides Zangief, E. Honda, Seth and Abel's command throws) the camera breaks from its normal fixed position to show a more dynamic, cinematic view of the gameplay.

Initially, there was much resistance to Ono's pitch for a new Street Fighter game so many years after the original. The gap from 2000 to 2008, since, the latest Street Fighter game at that point, represented the longest time the series had gone without a sequel. However, in light of fan demand plus the positive reception to on, Inafune eventually allowed the project to begin. The game would have also featured a single-player mode with third-person 3D action (similar to this of the series) that focused on Ryu's backstory, as well as all Street Fighter arcade games in their original forms and a 3D version of Super Turbo. Flashback's proposed easy control system was later used in, minus its titular 'flashback' gameplay feature. While Street Fighter IV features models and backgrounds rendered in 3D, the gameplay remains on a traditional 2D plane, with the camera having freedom to move in 3D at certain times during fights, for dramatic effect, similar to the series Capcom produced with Arika. Initially the title had been developed to use 3D, but the testers felt it did not have the 'pixel perfect' precision of a Street Fighter game, and the game was therefore changed to use 2D hitboxes.Ono has also cited the arcade version of ' as the inspiration for the game's three-dimensional art style.

Art director and character designer Daigo Ikeno, who previously worked on Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, opted for to give them a hand-drawn look, with visual effects accented in calligraphic strokes, ink smudges and ink sprays during the fights.Street Fighter IV 's musical score was primarily composed.
