Note to self: Stop one-clicking on Amazon freebies.SPOILERS.This is more like a novella and I stopped at 58%. I don't even think this should be shelved as a zombie book. There are no zombies in this. Basically, people get sick in the brain from a 'wonder weight loss drug' (that is supposed to have other health benefits too) and that is what causes them to be extra extra hungry.

I don't even think this should be shelved as a zombie book. Drive ahead for computer. There are no zombies in this. Basically, people get sick in the brain from a 'wonder weight loss drug' (that is supposed to have other health benefits too) and that is what causes them to be extra extra hungry. They can't bite people and turn them into 'zombies.' The only way they could multiply their numbers is to procreate.

Have babies.Plus, it's got all this silly romantic stuff with a subplot of a couple trying to get pregnant and the main character is obsessed with her weight (and her husband's). I mean, at first, I was like, oh cool, MCs who don't have perfect bodies, but I don't want to repeatedly hear you angsting over it.OH! How could I forget the most ANNOYING thing?! The husband goes and gets the 'wonder drug' shot behind his wife's back and doesn't tell her until there's a rabid human pack trying to get past their gate and in their house.

Smart move there, eh guy.I feel like it had potential, but the overall story was rushed, and I just feel cheated out of what I thought was going to be a zombie story. These are not real zombies. They are like rabid human packs, wandering around for food, acting/hunting like wild wolves.
